Plein Aire Workshop 1“Looking at the world as an artist has been as natural as breathing” says Dianne Click. “One of my first creative memories is making tea sets from the red Oklahoma clay when I was five or six.. I once used the hood of my fathers’ car covered with newspaper, slowly making melted crayon masterpieces in the hot summer sun”.

After several semesters of formal training Dianne realized that her dream of making art full time would require more easel and studio time. She built Two Hills Studio and for the past twenty years he has been fully absorbed by learning, making, showing and teaching art.

Plein Aire Workshop 2Her reputation as a colorist draws students regularly to her Hill Country studio located between San Antonio and Boerne, Texas.

Dianne describes her conceptual oil paintings as resonating with bold colors—primarily the warm tones of the American southwest.

Painting on location at every opportunity, she believes the sensory experience adds excitement and authenticity. “Photography”, she explains, “while useful in the studio simply cannot capture the subtle shifts of color and light”. Her subjects also include figure and still life capturing the same vibrant spirit.
